CONTRACTIONS

CONTRACTIONS

We make contractions by connecting two or more words together.

He had He'd
She had She'd
It had It'd

That had That'd (That'd  better  be the last time she calls me!)
That is That's  (That's it)
That will That'll ( That'll do)
That would That'd (That'd have been why)

Negatives

Are not Aren't (Aren't you coming?)
Can not can't  (I can't make it)
Could not couldn't  (I couldn't eat it)

Did not Didn't ( I didn't do it)
Does not doesn't (She doesn't work here)

Do not don't (I don't like spiders)
Had not hadn't (He hadn't been told)
Has not Hasn't (She hasn't left)
is not isn't (This isn't  difficult at all!)

Must not   mustn't (We mustn't give up!)
Need not needn't (You needn't  come)
Should not Shouldn't (You shouldn't  run)

was not wasn't (I wasn't joking)
were not weren't (We weren't sure which way to go)

will not won't (I'm telling you, she won't come)

would not wouldn't (I wouldn't touch those)

A lot of contractions to remember,  but most of them are fairly straight word!
